1. Wipe your electronics down to remove dust and dirt. If you don’t, it could cause damage and scratches to your electronics.

2. The wires can be separated from the device they are attached to. Separate them and store each one separately. During storage, the wires and device will not experience any additional strain.

To store wires, coil them up. Wires can be grouped by appliance. Zip-tie all coils in separate sections. The group name can be written on the taped sections with brightly colored permanent markers. The group names will then be easily identifiable. Put all your appliance wiring in a single container. This will make them easier to identify, related site.

4. To protect electronic devices from dust, cover them with cotton or towels. Plastic wrap is not recommended for electronic devices because it prevents moisture from leaving and may cause mildew or mold.

5. You can use packing peanuts and paper to fill in any remaining space when storing electronics together. The electronics will not move and be damaged each by the other.

6. Remove batteries from your electronic equipment. This will prevent damage from battery acid.

7. Before storing removable media like cassettes or CDs/DVDs, it is important to remove them from the device. Make a copy of your internal hard drive before you store it.

8. Electronic items such as monitors or copy machines should be stored with glass. To protect the glass, use a layer or padding. For electronics with glass, Styrofoam is a good option.

9. You should stack boxes so that the heavier objects are at the bottom, and the lighter or delicate ones at top. This will prevent your electronic devices from being damaged by boxes which collapse.

10. Labelling is required for all containers. You will find it easier to retrieve items once you remove electronic products from storage. It will also help you remember which electronic items need special attention.
